Tailoring your fitness workout program to your lifestyle, preferences, or fitness level is a good way to get fit. What works for someone else might not be working for you. If you have already been exercising and find that you don’t see the results you used to see or don’t see results period then it’s time to get a new fitness workout program.

There are several things you should look at when trying to put together a new fitness workout program, namely the frequency, intensity, and time that goes into your fitness workout program. Defining this and understanding what is going wrong will help you start feeling fitter and healthier in no time at all.

Frequency, Intensity, and Time

The frequency of your fitness workout program plays a big part in determining your fitness level. If you started out exercising two or three times a week and now find that you are still doing the same thing but nothing changes that you should start exercising more.

If you find that you don’t have any more time then what you are already doing then it’s time to change your fitness workout program. All that could be missing from your fitness workout program is a little intensity. This means walking faster, or lifting heavier weights. Basically you need to increase the pace of your fitness workout program.

Mixing up your fitness workout program by adding new activities is also a good way to increase the intensity of your fitness workout program. New ways of toning and shaping are such as a fitness ball workout that challenges your body will also help you to shape up.

Cross Training

Cross training is an excellent way to keep your fitness level up and to see improvements in your physique. If you stick to cardiovascular activity on one day and then resistance training on another it might be a good idea to start combining the exercises.

Variety

Variety is the best way to keep your workouts fun. Try to stick to activities that you enjoy. This way you will feel committed and enthusiastic about keeping fit instead of dreading your workout time. If you like swimming then spend the time you would usually spend working out swimming.

Another way to keep your motivation up is to find someone to exercise with you. This way you will have someone to keep you going even when you feel like staying at home on the couch instead of getting out there and getting into shape.

Using a Fitness Workout DVD

Health and Fitness No Comments »

Losing weight or getting fit in the privacy of your own home can be difficult. Buying the right fitness workout DVD can help you get into shape while being lots of fun. The thing is where do you start? How do you know which fitness workout DVD is going to do the job?

Think carefully about how much time you have to work out each day and how much space you have available to you to work out. Once you have narrowed down carefully what you want out of your fitness workout DVD you can start having some fun and losing weight. The best part is you don’t even have to leave home!

Class Fun

If you like the idea of joining a class to workout but either don’t have the time to or are embarrassed to join one then a home fitness workout in your living room is a great place to start. Plenty of the exercises that are practiced in health clubs are now available in the format of a fitness workout DVD.

If you like the idea of belly dancing, yoga, pilates, or even striptease there are now a variety of fun fitness workout DVDs for you to try out. Most of the time these workouts have been tailored for the beginner so they are safe to try at home. However you might find it helpful to buy more than one DVD as doing the same routine can get boring.

Read a few reviews and you will quickly narrow down which fitness workout DVD is the one you want. People who don’t like a certain DVD will be quick to disclose how they feel. If you see more than one review citing that a DVD is too hard or not working then it might be a good idea to stay away from it.

Be careful when following a video such as a yoga or pilates video as it is possible to injure yourself without an instructor present. It might be better to attempt these types of fitness workout DVD only if you have some experience with this type of exercise.

If you would prefer something a bit more strenuous then there are plenty of other DVDs that will help get you into shape while performing the traditional types of exercises such as squats, lunges, sit ups, and push ups. You can also try boxing or kick boxing videos as boxing is an excellent way to tone up and get your heart rate going.

Fat Loss Program For A Fit And Leaner Body

Health and Fitness No Comments »

Fat is a common enemy for any individual who plans to lose weight. In truth, there is a slight misconception with regard to the role of fat in our own bodies. Rather than being the overall bad guy for any dieter out there, our body also needs fat for it to function properly.

Before you start your fat loss program, you first need to realize that your body requires a specific amount of fat for it to maintain its normal body functions. There are good and bad cholesterol in our body, and we need to maintain the good ones to benefit our health, and get rid of the bad ones to stay healthy.

Good And Bad Cholesterol – The Basics

Doing away with deep medical terminologies, let’s define good and bad cholesterol in a simple way. Good cholesterol or HDL (high-density lipoproteins) carries cholesterol and fatty acids from various tissues in our body to the liver to be broken down. In most cases, HDL can reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases from ever occurring in our lifetime.

Bad cholesterol or LDL (low-density lipoproteins) transports cholesterol and other substances from the liver to body tissues. The more LDL you have in your body, the more cholesterol is moved around to areas that do not require large amounts of cholesterol in it, such as the heart . In most cases, too high LDL cholesterol content in our blood can cause cardiovascular diseases commonly observed in obese and overweight individuals.

Coming Up With A Fat Loss Program

Now that you have an idea on the various cholesterols found in our bodies, as well as its own effects to it, we can now come up with a fat loss program that will help us achieve a healthier and leaner body. For starters, we need to know the different kinds of fat that is commonly found in the food we eat, so that we can come up with a fat loss program that contains good cholesterol for a total healthy body benefit.

1. Monounsaturated Fats

This type of fat is known to lower LDL cholesterol and raising the levels of HDL cholesterol in our bodies, thus reducing the amount of bad cholesterol, thus, reducing the risk of heart diseases and stroke. This is a healthier alternative than making use of Trans fats in your meal everyday. Example of food groups that hold monounsaturated fats in abundance includes vegetable oil – olive, canola, peanut, sesame, and sunflower oils; avocados, peanut butter, and various nuts and seeds.

2. Polyunsaturated Fats

Polyunsaturated fats are known to lower both LDL and HDL cholesterol in our bodies. In many ways, including this type of fat into our meals can be a benefit and risk to at the same time. When purchasing products to be included in our meal preparations, it is very important that we read the labels to check if it has polyunsaturated fat iincluded, to safely determine if the amount is enough to be beneficial to our fat loss program. Polyunsaturated fats are found in soybean oil, safflower oil, and corn oil; and in fatty fishes like mackerel, trout, and salmon.

3. Saturated Fat

Saturated fats are known to have Omega-3 fatty acids that are good for our body. This fat group can also help in the functions of some of our body organs. However ingesting in too much of saturated fats can cause health problems, such as coronary heart disease and stroke.

When designing your own fat loss programs, you need to keep in mind that you don’t have to avoid any fatty, high-cholesterol foods in your everyday meal. In fact, a proper fat loss program includes the food groups that provide the right fatty acids needed by our body to function in the way it is designed, as well as moderating those fats that can cause problems when taken in abundance.

My husband is making me gain 10lbs by Christmas……?

Cookie Diet 1 Comment »

because he thinks I am underweight. It is not in my genes to be large and I think it is because his family thinks I am too skinny. They think I am sick or something, most of the women in his family are "bigger" than me. Do you know the average wieght for a woman 5'9? I have actually tried eating all the food he wants me to but I will gain a couple of pounds and then lose it right away. Right now I am at 149lbs. What should I do???? I have tried telling him it's not possible and he thinks that I am not trying.

Losing Weight Fast Is Possible With This Diet

Health and Fitness No Comments »

It is the dream of many people all around the world to be able to lose weight fast. The exciting thing is that with the breakthrough new dieting ideas found in The Day Off Diet these dreams no longer have to be just dreams. If you really want to lose weight fast then you can do it with The Day Off Diet Online Diet.

What makes this online diet program so effective? It’s not just one factor, it’s many different factors working together for the greatest possible success. The most obvious (although not necessarily the most important) factor is the inclusion of a weekly “day off.” You may be thinking to yourself: “How in the world can eating anything I want once a week actually help me lose weight faster?” The answer is by taking this “day off” you will give your body a “calorie spike” which helps you to burn fat faster by boosting your metabolism.

This “day off” is such a big change in the way people are going to diet because not only does it boost the metabolism, it also has many psychological advantages which help people to stick with the diet until they complete their goals. With most diets people build up uncontrolable cravings because they are never allowed to eat certain high calorie foods (some examples are vanilla ice cream, chocolates, pie, & cake.) These cravings eventually knock them off course. But with The Day Off Diet Online Diet Program there is no such problem because the dieter is able to indulge in all of their cravings once a week.

But as I mentioned earlier, the “day off” aspect of this diet program is only the most obvious factor in why it is so effective at helping people to lose weight fast. There’s also the “Green Light Food” system which helps to force the body to burn fat (by “turning off the fat storing gene.”)

This “Green Light Food” system is not only effective because it helps your body to burn fat faster. It’s also effective because it’s so incredibly simple to follow. There’s no carb counting or keeping track of how many calories you eat. I think that any diet that includes these sorts of “counting” systems is absolutely doomed to failure because no one can keep that up over the long term. And counting your calories and keeping track of exactly what you eat actually just makes you focus more on food. That’s exactly what you don’t want.

By combining the “day off” with the “Green Light Food” system this diet program makes it extremely easy to lose weight very fast. And the really cool thing is that you download this diet program online instantaneously. There’s absolutely no reason to wait. You can actually start this diet plan right away! And it’s 100% satisfaction guaranteed with a 60 day full money back refund period so there’s no risk in trying it.

What is a healthy way to gain weight while still exercising quite vigorously?

Cookie Diet 1 Comment »

I have just started getting myself in shape for Air Force Basic Training so that I won't hurt myself when I get there…However, I find myself with another dilemma besides being horribly out of shape–I am under the Air Force's miminum weight requirement by 2-5 lbs (depending on if they say I'm 5'4" or 5'5"). I am afraid that if I continue on my excercise routine that I will lose weight, and I need to gain it if they are going to let me in without a waiver! Any healthy suggestions?
When I say "horribly out of shape," I mean that I can't run very far without getting short of breath, I'm not as strong or as flexible as I used to be. I am close to being underweight, which is why I want to gain weight, not only to be healthier, but to be able to join the Air Force. I need to weigh between 110-114 (depending on how tall they say I am…it's different everytime I get measured…). I want to raise my endurance so I can avoid embarassment and injury when I get to Basic Training. Right now I am following this training program: http://usmilitary.about.com/cs/airforcejoin/a/afbasicworkout.htm The problem with that is there is so much cardio and aerobics involved in that goal that I am afraid I will lose weight when I can't afford to lose any!! I am looking for a healthy diet and vigorous excercise routine that will get me healthier, physically fit, and help me gain a little mass, preferably muscle. I am not petite, but I am pretty small…5'4"-5" and 109 lbs.

Can you still lose weight 8 months after pregnancy?

Cookie Diet 1 Comment »

I'm still breast feeding and didn't change my diet. Now my weight is down to 117lbs (5'4"). I know that's enough, but I was wondering how did I get rid of all the pregnancy fat without exercising. My thyroid is ok. I used to be 125.
