mid-distance runner, need to lose a bit of weight?

Cookie Diet 1 Comment »

I’m five feet tall and weigh 115 lbs. (15 yrs. old)
I run mid-distance track on varsity and I plan to run cross country in the fall.
i run about three miles every day and I do not eat junk food/ empty calories (chips, cookies, ice cream, cake, white bread, white pasta, soda)
I also try to keep considerate portion sizes and not eat late at night/get 8 hours of sleep.
My weight stays the same however.
I’d like to lose 5-10 pounds. Is there any types of exercises or changes I should be making to lose weight?

Would this be a good diet plan to lose weight?

Cookie Diet 1 Comment »

I kinda have been thinking about a good, healthy diet plan to help me lose about 15 pounds before school starts this August.
Do you think I would lose weight (the healthy way) by eating:

Breakfast:
100% whole wheat bread with peanut butter on it and some cheese with a glass of milk (lots of protein)

Lunch: an apple and some peanut butter (protein), and maybe some other fruits and veggies

Supper: Some lean chicken or fish (protein) with a side salad (no dressing) with an egg in it (protein) or vegetables.

I also gave up all fast food, sugar, soda, cookies, cake, brownies, chips, candy, soft drinks, and juice. I drink 8-10 glasses of water a day with the cup of milk in the morning. I also take a multi-vitamin everyday. I’m gonna be walking about an hour everyday with my mom. (cardio) and doing other stomach, leg, and arm exercises. I want to lose about 2 pounds a week because I heard if you lose more, you’ll gain it back once you finish your diet. Would I lose weight this way? If not, please give me some tips on what would be better choices in my diet plan. Thanks!! :)

My trainer wants me to lose weight…Should I have to is the question..?

Cookie Diet 1 Comment »

I’m a 5’8, 130.4 lbs- I don’t eat red meat (not because I’m vegan, but because I’ve never liked the taste), I don’t drink soda, or alcohol.Don’t smoke. I cut fast food, chips, and cookies. Overall, my bust is 36, My waist a 26, and my hips 36. My BMI is 19.61. I’m anemic- so I take iron pills- along with cod liver oil, and a multi-vitamin. I play tennis, soccer, ballroom dance, and run everywhere for family and friends (nickname is crazy..kinda fits). But my trainer is now telling me that I need to lose weight- I have never been ashamed of how I looked and quite frankly never wanted to lose weight. I’m not a models size, but I’m happy so who cares. I just became sexual active and I know that makes you gain a little weight. Do you think I should go with my trainer and lose weight? Or just drop him? I’ve had him since I was little becuase I use to train for pageants- but this is a little weird.

Thanks for the advice.
Krazy.

If I continue eating and excersing like this, would I lose weight?

Cookie Diet 1 Comment »

What I have eaten:
Yesterday:
Salad for both lunch and dinner
3 little cookies for snack
a fruit cup for dessert
Today:
Smoked salmon and corn for lunch
salad for dinner
yogurt and granola for dessert
one cookie for an afternoon snack

Excersice:
Yesteray:
30 min of cardio (running)
10 min of weight training
Today:
same as yesterday.

If I continue working out like this ( 3 to 5 times a week) and eating like this, do you think I would lose weight and feel healthier? Any good suggestions?

Can I turn a bad start around?

Cookie Diet 1 Comment »

I was doing so well on my diet, and this morning, about an hour ago, I gave in and ate a bagel with an egg, ketchup, and butter. To top it off, I ate a chocolate cookie. Knowing my terrible metabolism, I will probably gain like 2 pounds. Is there anything I can do to turn this bad start around?

How can I stop myself from eating junk food and lose weight?

Cookie Diet 1 Comment »

I’m a vegetarian (have been for about 6 years) and when I started I was really stupid about it. All I focused on was cutting out the meat, not my new diet. So I just ended up eating junk as the alternative, and it turned into a horrible habit. I am now trying SO hard to be a healthier, skinnier vegetarian and cut out the junk, but my sense of self-control sucks. I can’t seem to stop myself from pouncing at the brownies and cookies. It’s like my mind goes blank and I only realize what I’m doing after I’ve eaten half of it. How can I control myself and take care of my cravings? I think part of the problem might also be that I don’t even know what to replace the junk with. What the hell do I eat???
