Any suggestions for keeping your diet on track while at a party?

Ok so I’ve been on a diet that allows me to eat 1,500 calories a day and wrok out 7 days a week (rowing, so it’s pretty intense) and so far I have been very successful. However, my weakness is sweets. If I even look at a a cookie or cake or soda I begin to drool. A good friend of mine is having a party and it will be PACKED with sweets and not to mention greasy foods like pizza. I need to avoid these foods at all costs, but I don’t want to seem like a picky eater by not eating anything or hurt my host’s feelings by declining what will probably be a homemade birthday cake. I really REALLY need to stick to my diet so I can’t even make an exception for pigging out. Please help? What food SHOULD I eat?

A word of advice from a physical training instructor on you diet. If you are conducting intense physical activity and are only consuming 1500 cal a day, you are in effect starving your body and causing it harm.
The effects of this can include bad skin, thinning of your hair and dystrophy of the muscle tissue. In the long term, this kind of regime will result in a skeletal unhealthy aged look. Not nice!
If you want to look as hot as your potential, you need to supply your body with the the amount of calories commensurate to your work… i.e. add the number of calories that you work off at the gym to your basal metabolic rate. The workout will result in your body releasing toxins and toning up while the key element will be the source of your energy intake. Fresh veg and fruit are a must and will make your skin and hair reach their best possible state while your internal organs will also benefit, resulting in a better outward appearance. Get your carbs in controlled doses from complex sources such as wholegrain bread, brown pasta and brown rice. There are many recipes online that make these kinds of foods tasty and varied. I love chicken as a source of protein and tend to only have three eggs a week as too much albumin (the protein in the eggs) will increase blood pressure and undo all of your hard work.
All in all, keeping fit and looking good is simple if you have the discipline and will power…. the key, is to have the right balance! excess works both ways, so make sure that you eat the right stuff in the correct quantities. When you have that balance, you will have the best chance at a long and healthy life.
P.S. It’s ok to have some sweets every now and again. Just keep it at the right level. Chocolate in small quantities is actually very good for you!
Can I also say to everyone out there who are overly concerned with their weight and appearance that as a general rule, guy’s don’t like the size zero thing at all. Be yourself, be healthy and be happy and you won’t go wrong. Maybe that’s just my opinion, but I think it’s probably the best way to be.
Hope that I’ve helped at least one person out there and maybe even alleviated the anxieties of some caused by the false societies spun by the modern media!
