How good is my diet chart?
Cookie Diet December 5th, 2009What do yall think about my diet I dont know if its good or not but i think its good.
19 yr old athletic around 170 pounds trains almost evry other day, trying to mainting 170 pounds while still getting stronger and get more muslce definition.
9am-10am = kashi cereal for the protein mixed with total cereal for the vitamins, once peice of wheat bread, half a banana, half a carribean coconut, skim milk. I think this equals around 500 – 600 calories
12am-1pm = 1 apple with either good juice or a little more fruits ( might get 150-200 calories here )
4pm-5pm = 2 weat bread tuna sandwichs with cottage chese on it ( around 300-400 calories here )
7pm-8pm = normal meal, ( might be anything from rice with meat, to spaghetti with meat, fish etc) ( 600 – 700 calories here )
around 10 pm = low fat yogurt, one weat bread, and might have half a carribean cookie ( around 150 200 calories )
so at the end, I get around 1900 calories daily, and from what I just posted you can see that I take enough protein, and I its a day that I train I eat a little more cottage cheese.
please tell me if you have any comments or suggestions cause this is what im looking for

Pretty good overall.
Few suggestions thou.
You may want to add a few alternatives especially for breakfast and lunch, it will get really repetitive if you eat the same meal for a long period of time.
Also, try and limit the carbs as much as possible. For example with the dinner part, I would focus more on the fish, meat and and rice (good carb), vs spaghetti ( which is a complex carb).
You also have quite a bit of dairy in that diet, which you could try to limit as well, just because of the fat content factor. The dairy you have choosen is the best choices thou, cottage cheese, yougurt and such, I would just becareful not to overdo it on that.
I think its good you have included fruits, try and focus more on the less sugar type of fruits. Strawberries and Bananas tend to be high in calories and sugar as far as fruit goes, so maybe alternate with an apple instead. Some of the best fruits are the ones with antioxidents (helps prevent cancer) like blueberries.
I don’t think half a cookie will make a huge difference. but you should always avoid baked goods or prepacked type foods as much as possible, because of the peservatives and sugars in them.
You could also look into different type of breads, many health food stores carry a wide variety of breads that are far less carbs, like flax seed and even rice based.
Calories are important to watch for, but only when you combine it with how many nutrients you are getting out of the food you eat as well as the amount of fat content.
Hope that helps some, but definately think you are on the right path
