I am 5'4" weigh 143 – this is the heaviest I have ever weighed! I can not lose the weight. I have increased my veggies & fruit, cut out fattening foods and 100 calorie pack snacks (which I now believe helped with my weight gain). I have gained 8 pounds since Christmas and can not get rid of it. I am 38 years old. I do plenty of cardio – almost daily a minimum of 40 minutes at 80% + of my max heart rate. I just started adding weights and would like to know when I will see a difference. If I do weights 3 days a week, when will muscle build and fat leave? As far as my diet, I eat a South Beach Diet Bar for breakfast everyday, lunch is a salad with grilled chicken, snacks are usually fruit or a glass of 1% chocolate milk (I use sugar free Quik for the chocolate), dinner is anything from salad with chicken to veggie soup, veggie pizza – last night was a low fat hotdog, mac & cheese (made with 1/2 the butter and milk was 1%), & baked beans. I do drink diet coke ALOT!
