Sounds like you need a few more calories to me. Maybe go to 2000 calories. You are still growing.

Are you vegetarian? IF so pay close attn to your intake of protein. You have to keep it up there. Nice lean proteins. Beans and rice, peanut butter, cheese, eggs if you are a veg...if you eat meat, you can have beef a few times a week, and lots of fish and poultry.

For best carbs, eat as many whole grains as possible. The least processing the better which means it is not going to say "instant" on the box and it may cost a little more, and it may be a little harder to cook. Avoid white sugar, corn syrup. Use things like honey, real maple syrup, and raw sugar when you want sweet. Fruit is an excellent way to get your carbs. Whole grain rice, fresh potatos, enriched pastas, whole oats.

For best fruits and veg...you really can't beat fresh unless it is out of season or you can't use that amount before it spoils. Really good alternative is frozen because usually there are no added ingredients. And try for organic whenever possible.

Also make sure you get enough fiber (and stay regular in the bathroom) Whole fruits, whole grains help with that...this helps you keep your shape, keeps your system detoxified, helps dissolve some cholesterol, and being regular usually goes hand in hand with being properly hydrated.

You sound like you are doing a lot right.
