Trying to lose weight?
Cookie Diet December 12th, 2009Alright, I am a 19 year old male trying to drop some weight, namely in my stomach and chest. I am 5’7" and, last time I checked, i was around 220. A lot if it is muscle from weight lifting with football season, but my stomach and chest are still bigger than I’d like. So on the 15th, I started jogging. I always jog 1 mile and walk one block for a cool down lap. I have cut out the following:
Fast Food
Soda
Any and all energy drinks
Basically, all I drink is water or milk. I allow myself gatorade, but only the G2 kind and juices, as long as it’s not like sunny D, where it is like… 90% not juice.
All I have really been eating is cereal and sandwiches. I am going with my dad shopping next itme he goes because he is bad at it haha. He buys a bunch of really unhealthy things, so it’s a pain. What I snack on are those little 100 calorie things, that have cookies and such. They don’t seem like they’d work, but they helped my mom lose weight. My question is:
What do you suggest?
The only juice I drink are the juices I find which are low in sugar and all the additives. Most of the time, I make my own apple juice and things like that. And I loooove protein shakes!
Thank you for visiting our Cookie Diet website today. We hope you join the program and start losing weight.
Try Laughing cow cheese and melba toast!
I have 3 slices of melba toast + 1 wedge of the cheese and the whole thing is only 95 cals!
Get some fruit – bananas, apples, oranges, watermelon – whatever you love. did you know that 13oz of watermelon (that’s a pretty big bowl of it…) is only around 150calories? An entire banana is only like 100!
Try enriched egg noodles – they’re a good alternative to regular white pasta and they are cheap and taste just the same! About 250 calories (for one cup, uncooked – cooked, that’s like a whole bowl) and they’re just chalk full of vitamins!
How about tyson boneless skinless chicken breast? You can have two pieces (10oz) for 300 calories and that’s a LOT of protein!
Try "Egg Beaters" – a lower calorie alternative to regular eggs, and you can make yourself some high-protein, low fat omlettes! Yumm…
Have you considered veggies to snack on? The fiber keeps you full and the calorie content is really low. You can have 10oz of carrots and 3oz of light ranch dressing for <200cal! That’s a whole BOWL of carrots and a generous amount of dressing.
The key isn’t to eat less, its to eat BETTER. Eat wheat or wholegrain bread with your sandwiches – white carbs are worse for you, so try their alternatives. (White bread = wheat, traditional pasta = egg noodles, white rice = brown rice, potatoes – only if they are smashed with the peel, and even then only in small amounts!)
Low fat yogurt and low-fat cottage cheese are also pretty high in protein, so they might be good too! =)
Hope that helped! Good luck =)
—Edit—
You might also consider cutting out the juices as they will be incredibly high in sugar. Whenever I am really craving some and just have to have it, I combine it 50%juice 50%water. it’s the same for fewer calories. Just not as potent.
