unsalted butter for a cookie recipe?

i have a cookie recipe that calls for white chocolate and unsalted butter. is there a reason for unsalted butter or is this person on a salt free diet? this is the first time i have seen unsalted butter. hope you have a happy holloween and may the headless horseman pass you by.

You can use regular salted butter and it won’t make a difference. Some recipes in baking call for unsalted butter but I never usually have it on hand so I always use regular butter and it is just fine.
