When on a diet is it okay to have a bad day?

Well I have been on a diet for about 2 wks now and I was wondering if it is okay to splurge every once in awhile…I have been doing really good until i went to my grandmas today and she baked some cookies so I ate a few and I had a cup cake but I still did my normal exercises (walking 3.2 miles and jumping on a mini trampoline for 20 minutes….So did I really do something bad for my body?

For me, I personally feel that you have to give yourself permission to eat something you shouldn’t once in a while, or you end up having a really big binge, the kind that you feel so guilty about that you end up saying "what’s the use?" and stop your new healthier eating. Tell yourself it is a treat and limit the amount to exactly one serving. Take your time with it, eat slowly, and savor. By completely restricting what you can and can’t eat, dieting and eating healthy often becomes torture, mentally. If I do give myself a treat, I try to exercise more. If you don’t burn the calories you consume, you gain, and you can’t lose unless you burn more than you consume.
