Dad’s B-Day Is An Anual Chore
Health and Fitness March 31st, 2009
Dads birthday pops up every year and I get the same situation as last year where there is nothing at all to buy dad on his special day, because of a particular trait of his. Dad doesn’t have cash to toss around on just whatever, but if there is something he wants he doesn’t hesitate to go buy it for himself. He’s working in the garage and needs a wrench so he goes out and buys a wrench. This sounds like it’s a good thing, but it always makes it hard to think of good gift ideas for men for him. I put a lot of thought and considerations into what I could buy him to celebrate the birth of a man I love very much.
Now I guess I need to tall you something else about my dad, he doesn’t exactly “take care” of himself like he should. He eats a lot of junky food that he should defiantly steer clear of, loves his beer, and would rather watch football then play it. I worry a lot about his weight because who knows if he will make it to see my first child get born or my graduation. Anyway all that got me thinking that I could get some inspiration by asking my friend, who is a personal trainer, for some quick weight loss tips. I was so glad I did because he had some great suggestions, especially for someone who isn’t in the best shape to begin with.
He started out by telling me the standard stuff one would expect like getting a good diet and exercise. When I inquired about quick fixes like supplements he was quick to caution me against them. He informed me that they aren’t useful for people who are in bad shape but are more for gym monkeys. My grandmother has all the ingredients to make those stupid things laying around the kitchen. What I was really interested in was his suggested was that I look into some home gymnasium equipment. Following some research that I did, I could tell this was a smart idea for a gift for this years birthday. Even if it’s not something he would pick out for himself I really think it’s something that will be good for him. I just really hope my dear dear father has a great birthday.
