This post needs no introduction here are 10 easy tips that might give you an idea or a boost when you need it:

  1. Start as you mean to go on. Eat a nutritious breakfast - if you have a healthy breakfast you will want to eat healthy for the rest of the day and keep up the good work you started.
  2. Eat more fiber! Fiber fills you up and is good for you. It also helps speed digestion so that your other food doesn’t sit in your stomach.
  3. Never eat out of the container – e.g. ice cream! You will always eat much more than a single portion.
  4. Reward yourself – when you have been good and stuck to your diet reward yourself – not with fatty food But perhaps go and see a movie, or buy a new dress for example
  5. Keep a diary. This will let you see the progress you have made when you are feeling depressed. It also increases your commitment as you have “someone to answer to”…
  6. Set realistic goals. A lower weight loss target over a shorter period is better than a mountainous big goal – the little checkpoints will add up to your total in the end anyway.
  7. Do some exercise! Even 10 or 20 minutes a day will increase your heart rate, boost your metabolism and help you to burn some calories. You will tend to lose weight quicker with daily exercise than just diet alone.
  8. Take up an exercise routine you enjoy – if the treadmill is tedious try yoga, or dance classes, swimming, anything that you would get some enjoyment out of too – exercise is much easier when you enjoy it.
  9. Allways buy the low fat alternative. Many times there will still be probably still be a lot of fat in low fat ice creams for example. However if you really need to eat it then the low fat version is obviously the better choice to make. Especially treats such as ice cream and chocolate.
  10. Leave some food on your plate. You don’t have to finish everything on your plate – dont stuff yourself - just stop eating when you are full.
