* When you start on an eating plan, take a photo of yourself and put this photo on your pantry door, refrigerator or where-ever the temptations maybe, that will help you keep your resolve to lose weight.

* When you feel like something sweet, go and brush your teeth.

* Walk up stairs rather than take the lift. Park a block away from where you want to go and walk.

* If sitting or lying. watching TV, jiggle your legs, do pelvic squeezes, some sit-ups, try to keep some movement going to help firm muscles and burn calories.

* If the temptation to eat is proving too strong look for low calorie food, such as plain crackers, celery, tomatoes, fruit or drink a large glass of water.

* Have chewing gum on hand for when your jaws need exercising, LOL.

* Stop inputing into your body all items that do not add nutritional value. Eating is for fueling your body, not satiating your hunger desire.

Your metabolism has a lot to do with how your body uses calories consumed. If you eat foods high in trans fat, sodium, white flour, sugar and other sources of fast carbs (bad carbs), your metabolism slows down and your body doesn’t use them for fuel, so in turn they get stored into fat and it makes you fat. Where as if you eat good foods with good fats, complex carbs (good carbs), adequate fiber and keep your sodium levels fairly low, your metabolism fires on all cylinders literally (by raising your core body temp.) and your body uses almost everything healthy you eat as fuel (by burning all those calories and fat) so nothing gets stored as fat, so you maintain body composition or if you train your body grows.
